Job Description
Required Certifications: NC or compact RN license, AHA BLS, NRP, Stable
Desired Certifications: PALS, ACLS
Minimum Experience: 5 years' experience with a concentration in Labor & Delivery and Triage experience; NO NEW TRAVELERS, must have completed at least 1 travel contract
Charting Experience Required: EPIC
Required Skillset: Strong L&D, Mom/Baby, Triage experience, GYN, MedSurg, Peds
Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio):
• Averages 350 deliveries per year
• 22 total beds; 6 L&D beds, 7 GYN beds, 7 Peds beds
• Patient Ratio ranges from 1:1-3
• Example of typical patients on Unit on a day-to-day basis:
• 2 Ped Patients, 1 Mom/Baby, 1 MedSurg, 1 Induction, Triage own patients
Types of Peds Patients seen on Unit: newborn to adolescent
Typical diagnosis include fractures, Appendectomies RSV, pneumonia, asthma, fever, r/o sepsis, gastro. Usually very short hospital stays.
