Location: Durango, CO

End Date: 05-25-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Schedule is set in 6-week blocks by leadership; includes 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Night shift (NOC), flexibility to float within zone as needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to patients across combined ICUs (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU)
• Manage mechanical ventilation and assist with troubleshooting respiratory needs alongside RTs
• Titrate vasoactive and critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin) safely and confidently
• Interpret telemetry and read ECG strips independently to guide patient care
• Care for high-acuity patients using advanced support (CRRT, IABP, Impella) with 1:1 to 1:3 nurse:patient ratios as needed
• Accurately document assessments and care in EPIC and maintain clear multidisciplinary communication
• Float to other acuity levels (ICU, PCU/Stepdown, MS-Tele) when needed to support the unit
• Participate in orientation and teamwork activities to maintain unit standards and patient safety
Qualifications
• Current RN license (eligible to work in the U.S.)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; if first-time travel nurse, 3+ years ICU experience plus EPIC experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS required
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing ventilators
• Ability to interpret telemetry and manage cardiac/critical care monitoring independently
• Willingness to float within the zone and travel to remain within a 60-mile radius of the zone center (driver's license required for submission)
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and adaptability in fast-paced acute care settings
Education
• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN preferred where applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
• Critical care nursing principles and ICU workflows
• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Titration and management of vasoactive and supportive drips
• Telemetry interpretation and ECG rhythm recognition
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record charting
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac and circulatory supports (CRRT, IABP, Impella)
• Ability to assist respiratory therapists and manage respiratory equipment (vents, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow)
