
Registered Nurse - ICU MedSurgical PRN in Starks, LA
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our ICU MedSurgical team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will provide both routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating keen awareness and independent clinical judgment. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care and will be responsible for coordinating care activities and supporting patients and their families through challenging health situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Exhibit proficiency in OneCHRISTUS Competencies, serving as a Leader of Self and others.
• Utilize the nursing process for effective assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for your assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to your level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient information thoroughly, including history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and deliver appropriate education and resources.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Licenses and Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or compact license is needed.
• Current ACLS certification is required, to be obtained within 30 days of hire for experienced associates and within 90 days for new graduates.
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire and will be precepted by a trained staff member.
