Job Description

Job Title ICU Registered Nurse Job Summary The ICU Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing ventilators, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Key Responsibilities Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and physical assessments. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Manage ventilators and other respiratory support equipment. Insert and manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines. Perform conscious sedation. Provide wound care, including surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Document patient care accurately and completely in the EMR system (CPSI). Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in WV or compact state (pending license acceptable). Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications through the American Heart Association. Ability to perform skills as listed in skills section. Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (case-by-case consideration for 75-100 miles). Preferred Qualifications CCRN certification. Previous charge nurse experience.
