Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Contract Duration: 19 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Three 11.5-hour flex shifts per week; alternating weekends & holidays; 1-hour meal break)
Local Weekly Pay: $2,214 – $2,415

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-acuity care in an ICU Step Down environment. The ideal candidate is skilled in managing complex patient needs, responding swiftly to changes in condition, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive care to step-down patients requiring close monitoring, including those with tracheostomies, ventilators, feeding tubes, catheters, and cardiac monitoring.
• Perform frequent assessments, recognize subtle changes in patient status, and escalate care appropriately, including activation of rapid response or ICU teams.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to vital sign changes and participate in rapid response and code situations.
• Administer IV medications; perform IV insertions and phlebotomy; manage conscious sedation per unit protocols.
• Document all care accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Step Down experience or 2 years of ICU experience.
• At least 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
• At least 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric populations; completion of age-specific competency requirements.

Education
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required from an accredited nursing program.
• Graduation from a National League for Nursing–accredited institution required.
• BSN preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.

Licensure & Certifications
• Active New York State RN License (primary source verification through NYSED).
• AHA BLS – Required
• AHA ACLS – Required
