Roles & Responsibilities • Provide expert critical care nursing for adult cardiac ICU patients, maintaining high standards of safety and compassion • Monitor and interpret hemodynamics, telemetry, and cardiac rhythms to guide timely interventions • Manage ventilated patients including ventilator adjustments, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and BiPAP/CPAP support • Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, sedation, and emergency medications with precision • Perform and manage advanced line care including arterial lines, central lines, PICC, and blood product administration • Initiate and maintain IV therapy, perform IV starts, and support invasive devices such as IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz monitoring • Respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies and participate actively in rapid response and resuscitation events • Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication across the interdisciplinary team • Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, and other teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care • Mentor and support colleagues while adhering to infection prevention and isolation precautions Qualifications • Active RN license in the State of Ohio (or compact license if applicable) • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required • Current BLS and ACLS required (AHA certifications only) • NIHSS certification required • EPIC documentation experience required • Demonstrated competency with ventilator management and IV starts • Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation experience • Ability to float to other OSU units as needed • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline • Willingness and ability to work night shifts and meet the 3x12 schedule Knowledge & Skills • Critical care nursing principles and cardiac ICU workflows • Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation • Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients • Cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management • IV therapy, arterial line and central line management • CRRT/CVVHD familiarity and renal support care • Experience with IABP, Impella, and post-cardiac cath/intervention care • Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, procedural sedation monitoring • Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safe PPE use • Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting and interdisciplinary communication Benefits • Generous housing stipend options to help you settle into Columbus comfortably • Medical, dental & vision coverage so you and your family stay healthy • 401K retirement savings plan to help you plan for tomorrow • Life insurance and short-term disability to protect what matters • Paid time off to recharge — we actually want you rested and ready • Travel reimbursement and licensure assistance to make relocation easy • Licensure assistance & reimbursement so paperwork is one less thing to worry about • Referral bonus program — bring a great colleague and be rewarded • A supportive team that values YOU and your professional growth Travel Perks: Explore Columbus, OH Columbus is a vibrant Midwest hub with plenty to explore on your time off.
