Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse
The immediate vacancy is Temporary Part-Time for the University of Hawaii, Maui College, Kahului, Maui. Salary: $52.95 / hour (SR-20, Step B). General duty nursing involves responsibility for direct/indirect nursing care to patients in hospitals, infirmaries, sanitaria or similar health care facilities. Positions in this area may involve assignment to one, or rotation among, the various clinical services of the institution (e.g., obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient, geriatrics, tuberculosis, psychiatric, Hansen's disease, etc.). The Registered Nurse III, is a staff/journey level nursing position that are assigned to one clinical service area or rotation among the various nursing areas of the institution or hospital (e.g., obstetrics, surgery, pediatrics, etc.). Assignments involve the responsibility for developing and implementing nursing care plans for patients with a wide range of nursing care problems; providing nursing care and treatment services to patients assigned to the unit; and assigning and directing the work of nursing assistants. As a fully independent nurse, the position provides care to patients with minimum guidance and supervision and may serve as a charge nurse relieving the head nurse on an assigned shift; and performing other related duties as assigned. This position is located in the University of Hawaii, Maui College, Academic Affairs, Career & Technical Education, Campus Health Center, and reports to Instructor CC (Lead Health Center RN). The function of Health Services is to achieve and maintain a healthy student body and college community and provide activities/programs for Maui College and the community. The primary purpose of this position is to provide the best quality of care to clients by independently developing and implementing nursing care plans under written standing orders, providing direct patient care, and supporting clinic operations.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal authorization to work requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Hawaii Registered Nurse License: Applicants MUST POSSESS a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii. Experience: Six (6) months of professional work experience as a registered nurse. Selective Certification: In order to successfully perform the essential emergency duty, the incumbent must have certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), which includes the ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and to appropriately use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
