Registered Nurse - IMC Step-down Care - PRN in Vinton, LA

Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit, where you will provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you will practice independently, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of patient needs and complexities. You will be responsible for delivering both routine and complex care while actively developing your clinical skills to manage various nursing situations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to deliver exceptional patient care in line with OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, closely monitoring for effectiveness and any potential side effects.
• Accurately document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and all care administered.
• Evaluate learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers, while identifying any necessary resources.

Job Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS and current RN License in the state of employment or compact required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is also required.

Position Requirements:
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are paired with a trained preceptor to ensure a thorough orientation, validating competence through comprehensive training programs.
• Completion of annual competency verification is mandatory.

Work Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM
Work Type: Per Diem as needed
