Job Description
Requirements
Education: Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program is required.
Certification/Licenses: A current RN license in New Mexico or an active Compact state license is necessary. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification must be achieved within two weeks of your hire date, while all other required certifications must be obtained within six months. Please note that maintaining these certifications is mandatory.
Skills:
• Knowledge and skills relevant to the age and type of patient population served.
• A strong understanding of and sensitivity to patients' rights in care delivery.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with patients, tailored to their developmental levels.
Experience:
Nature of Supervision:
You will report directly to the Patient Care Director or Manager.
Environment:
• Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens in various patient care areas.
• Awareness of infectious diseases and x-rays.
You will work in a clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated smoke-free environment, while navigating the challenges of a dynamic healthcare setting. Flexibility in working hours is essential due to unexpected changes and emergencies.
Physical Requirements: This role demands the physical capability to handle emergency situations, which includes prolonged standing and walking. You may be required to exert heavy physical effort to position, transfer, or push patients and equipment. Moreover, your duties will involve considerable bending, stooping, and crouching, alongside the need for excellent vision and hearing capabilities. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are essential for success in this position.
