Unit Description
The ICU at Henry Ford Madison Heights is a 12-bed unit within a Level IV Trauma Center where nurses provide high-acuity care for patients with variety of critical and complex conditions, including cardiac arrest, sepsis, stroke, acute kidney injury, ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, overdose, angioedema, GI bleeds and more. With a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio, nurses have the ability to provide focused, meaningful care while working closely with APPs, physicians, respiratory therapist, PTs, OTs, and other specialties and a collaborative, team-oriented environment. General Summary
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Education/Experience Required
• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Certifications/Licensures Required
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
