Step into a unit where teamwork, advanced clinical skills, and compassionate care come together to make a real difference. Our Progressive Cardiac Telemetry Unit specializes in caring for patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring, complex medical management, and a level of observation higher than the acute care setting. Nurses on this team gain valuable experience caring for a wide range of cardiac, medical, and post-procedural patients—while working in an environment that supports growth, collaboration, and strong clinical excellence.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with:
• Caring for patients with arrhythmias, heart failure, chest pain, and post–cardiac procedure recovery
• Monitoring and interpreting telemetry, recognizing early signs of clinical deterioration
• Administering and titrating cardiac-related IV therapies, including heparin, antiarrhythmics, and vasoactive medications within Progressive Care guidelines
• Managing patients with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and complex respiratory needs
• Coordinating care for medically complex patients requiring multidisciplinary support and advanced monitoring
• Supporting patients as they transition from higher-acuity units (ICU/CCU) or prepare for discharge
• Providing patient and family education on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and long-term health
What makes this unit stand out:
• A specialized patient mix combining telemetry, cardiac medical, and post-procedural cases
• Opportunities to advance your skills in rhythm interpretation, complex medication management, and high-acuity care
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration with cardiology, respiratory therapy, and procedural teams
• 24/7 leadership support and dedicated resources to ensure safe and high-quality care
• A team culture that values clinical growth, strong communication, adaptability, and resilience
• A fast-paced learning environment ideal for nurses looking to advance toward intermediate care, critical care, or cardiac specialties
What We're Looking For:
• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
• ENPC, TNCC or CEN; preferred.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.
