JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Internal Medicine Team. Under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, you will collaborate with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care to adolescents, adults, and older adults within our vibrant University Community. This role emphasizes the importance of evidence-based clinical decisions and practices to enhance both individual and population health.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
• Registered Nurse licensed in Massachusetts
• Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience
Preferred
• At least two years of experience in a specialty clinic or ambulatory setting, including one year in triage
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Practice and Quality of Care
• Conduct thorough assessments and collect data related to patient health status, collaborating with the care team to create effective care plans.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure adherence to best standards of care for optimal patient outcomes.
• Take responsibility for managing comprehensive nursing care for individual patients.
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations to promote an integrated approach to patient care.
• Deliver care that prioritizes safety, ethics, patient-centeredness, cultural competence, and the utilization of the latest evidence-based practices.
The Registered Nurse may perform a variety of essential skills and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• Telephone, secure messaging, and in-person triage
• Reviewing and acting upon lab and x-ray test results
• Managing communications from both internal and external customers
• Initiating and monitoring intravenous (IV) infusions
• Assisting with and performing procedures (e.g., ECGs, dressing changes, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections)
• Providing vital patient education
• Assisting with medication management
• Completing timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
• Responding to urgent and emergent patient care situations
• Serving as a mentor and resource for colleagues
• Coordinating care across the continuum of healthcare services
• Managing patients with chronic health conditions, acute care needs, and behavioral health challenges while promoting wellness and prevention
• May float to other clinics as needed
• Other duties as assigned
