Radiology Nursing is a dynamic unit that supports patients undergoing radiological procedures. While the unit does not have a specific number of beds, it plays a crucial role in ensuring patient comfort and safety during various imaging studies. The patient population and diagnoses in this unit vary, reflecting the diverse nature of radiology services.

Shift requirements: M-F 630a-4p. Closed weekends and holidays with on-call requirement. Call is roughly 1 evening per week, one weekend per month, and 2 holidays per year. Must live within 45-minute response time of the hospital.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:
• Obtain Radiology Nursing certification
• Develop phenomenal procedural skills
• Refine time management and critical thinking skills

Qualifications
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
