Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology Specialist in Cromwell, CT

As an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a critical link in patient care both in outpatient and inpatient settings. Reporting to the Manager of Vascular and Cardiology Services, you'll assist in various diagnostic procedures including interventional angiography, ultrasound-guided thoracentesis, CT-guided biopsies, and more. Your role also involves administering moderate sedation and medications during these procedures.
Responsibilities include:
• Assessing patients pre-intra and post-procedure, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Engaging in operational duties such as Quality Improvement, policy maintenance, and educational initiatives.
• Providing educational resources to patients and families, ensuring they understand procedures and necessary lifestyle modifications.
• Accepting on-call responsibilities for the Medical Imaging Department.
COMPETENCIES:
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and the administration of moderate sedation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, crucial for effective patient interaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Radiology RN Clinician, you will:
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient care needs and coordinate care plans.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing strategies, integrating family and multidisciplinary input.
• Educate patients and families, adapting teachings to meet specific needs.
• Document care processes promptly and effectively, acting as a resource for others.
• Utilize advanced nursing skills in various settings, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Anticipate and act in emergency situations, organizing team responses effectively.
• Consistently evaluate and adapt care strategies based on patient feedback and outcomes.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Must possess a Connecticut State Registered Nurse license and maintain Basic Cardiac and ACLS certification.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years in a Critical Care environment or equivalent experience is required.
