Join Our 1 East Medical Unit at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute: JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, ranked among the nation’s top rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking dedicated professionals to join our Medical Unit, an acute inpatient program providing comprehensive care for adults recovering from comprehensive pulmonary, orthopedic, neurologic, and/or cardiac conditions. Our unit uses an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to support patients and their families. At the heart of our care is exceptional rehabilitation nursing, ensuring that patients’ medical and functional needs are met with expertise and compassion. Our nurses work closely with the team to manage complex conditions, deliver personalized care, and promote recovery. In addition to nursing, the unit offers intensive rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy, social work, dieticians and rehabilitation medicine. Patients admitted to the unit are medically stable and ready to engage in a personalized plan designed to restore function and independence. The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination. This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
