The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a stunning unit featuring beautiful views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. We service over 1,100 families annually through our Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit and Postpartum Unit. The L&D Unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage bays, and 2 operating rooms, all designed to support a multidisciplinary approach to care. Our team is dedicated to culturally sensitive practices, achieving some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts. The Postpartum Unit provides 12 private rooms, caring for mothers and infants immediately after birth and through the early postpartum phase.
As a Registered Nurse in the McGovern Maternity Unit - Labor and Delivery, you will:
• Conduct ongoing assessments and provide care for the mother throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
• Provide education to mothers from the antenatal period to immediate postpartum care.
• Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care for mothers and newborns.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the labor and delivery unit.
• Maintain clinical practices according to guidelines set by AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP, and complete necessary competencies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• BSN preferred.
• Current MA RN Licensure.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred.
• Previous labor and delivery experience is required.
