Join us at the Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital, a welcoming unit with stunning views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. We assist over 1,100 families each year, providing exceptional care in our well-equipped facility featuring a Labor and Delivery Unit and a Postpartum Unit.
The Labor and Delivery unit includes:
• 7 beds
• 3 triage bays
• 2 operating rooms
Our team prides itself on delivering culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary care, contributing to some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts. Our Postpartum Unit offers:
• 12 private rooms
• A level 1b continuing care nursery
This unit is dedicated to supporting mothers and infants from birth through the early postpartum period, emphasizing couplet care and nurturing family bonds.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct ongoing assessments and provide care to mothers during antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum phases following established guidelines.
• Deliver care and education to mothers and newborns during the antenatal and immediate postpartum periods.
• Develop and implement discharge planning and follow-up care for mothers and their newborns.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives specific to the labor and delivery unit.
• Maintain evidence-based clinical practices in line with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP guidelines.
• Complete required competency training for the labor and delivery unit.
Qualifications:
• BSN preferred
• Current MA RN Licensure
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred
• Prior labor and delivery experience required
