The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a beautiful unit, featuring stunning views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. This facility includes a Labor and Delivery unit and a Postpartum unit, helping over 1,100 families each year. The labor unit consists of 7 beds, 3 triage bays, and 2 operating rooms, with a proud record of multidisciplinary patient care and a culturally sensitive approach, achieving some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts. The Postpartum Unit offers 12 private rooms along with a level 1b continuing care nursery to provide care for mothers and infants immediately post-birth through the early stages of postpartum discharge. Our team fosters a culturally sensitive approach to couplet care and promotes early family bonding. Responsibilities as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery include: • Ongoing assessment and care of mothers throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods following established guidelines. • Continuous assessment and care of the newborn according to established protocols. • Providing education from the antenatal phase through to the immediate postpartum period. • Orchestrating and initiating discharge planning and follow-up care for both mother and newborn. • Participating in ongoing labor and delivery unit-based quality initiatives. • Maintaining clinical practice in alignment with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP established guidelines. • Successfully completing required competencies for the labor and delivery unit. Qualifications/Requirements: • BSN preferred • Current MA RN Licensure • Current AHA or ARC BLS required; ACLS and NRP required • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred • Current labor and delivery experience required Please note that the final offer may vary within the listed Pay Range, based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
