The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a vibrant unit with stunning views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. We support over 1,100 growing families annually, providing exceptional care in both our Labor and Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum Units. Our labor unit consists of 7 beds, including 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. We take pride in our collaborative patient care approach, cultural sensitivity, and low C-section rates, among the best in Massachusetts. The Postpartum Unit features 12 private rooms, ensuring a nurturing environment for mothers and infants during their early stages together.
As a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, you will:
• Provide continuous assessment and care for mothers throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
• Ensure comprehensive assessment and care for both mother and newborn according to established guidelines.
• Educate families from the antenatal stages through immediate postpartum care.
• Facilitate discharge planning and ensure follow-up care for both mother and newborn.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the labor and delivery unit.
• Maintain clinical practice in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP guidelines.
• Complete all necessary competency programs required for the labor and delivery unit.
Qualifications/Requirements/Licensure & Certifications:
• BSN preferred.
• Current MA RN Licensure.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred.
• Relevant labor and delivery experience is essential.
