Join our dynamic team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery! In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers and their families, demonstrating your skills and expertise in a fast-paced environment.
Summary:
As a skilled nurse, you will practice independently while managing various clinical situations. Your responsibilities will include providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on long-range goals and effective patient management. You will develop your abilities in addressing contingencies in clinical nursing, while also making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:
• Uphold the standards of OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Implement nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families at an advanced level.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols, monitoring for any side effects or effectiveness.
• Document all relevant patient information, including history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess patient learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Valid RN License in the state of employment or compact is mandatory.
Position Requirements:
• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, and competency requirements will be validated through successful completion of designated entry and perinatal services validations.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.
Preferred Experience:
• Completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent practice in a perinatal setting is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
• Current NRP certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
All associates must obtain required certifications for their respective roles within designated timeframes.
