Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Location: Apple Valley, CA Start Date: 03-10-2026 End Date: 06-09-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Roles & Responsibilities • Provide high-quality nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn settings • Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal monitoring and intervene appropriately • Assist, support, and circulate for Cesarean and Vaginal deliveries, including high-risk deliveries • Perform and document IUPC placement and calibration when indicated • Start and maintain IVs, manage blood and blood product administration safely • Maintain central lines such as CVCs and PICCs and manage infusion therapies including insulin drips and magnesium sulfate • Manage pain control, including epidural pumps and PCA devices, and perform sterile vaginal exams as needed • Chart accurately and timely in Epic to ensure continuity of care and excellent documentation Qualifications • Active RN license in good standing; facility may honor compact licenses in some systems • Minimum 2 years experience in LDRP, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn care (explicit requirement) • Certifications required or strongly preferred: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP; ACLS preferred • Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC use, and circulating/supporting C-sections • Comfortable starting and maintaining IVs, handling blood products, and managing epidural/PCA pumps • Experience with Epic charting (explicitly required) • Willingness to float as needed and to work night 12-hour shifts • Note: Previous permanent employees of any Providence affiliated facility must be separated for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position Knowledge & Skills • Fetal monitoring and interpretation (FHM) with real-time assessment skills • Intrauterine pressure catheter placement and calibration • IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood/blood products administration • Central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) and sterile technique • Circulating in the OR for Cesarean sections and recovery care • Management of epidural pumps, PCA devices, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and anticoagulation • Newborn care and couplet care practices • Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting workflows • Triage of obstetrical patients and high risk antepartum assessment Benefits • Generous housing stipend to make your travel stay comfortable and convenient • Medical, dental, and vision coverage so you can focus on care, not paperwork • 401K retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future • Life insurance and basic protections for peace of mind • Paid time off so you can recharge between assignments • Travel reimbursement and licensure assistance to make the logistics easy • Licensure assistance and reimbursement for required certifications • Referral bonus program and opportunities to grow your professional network • A supportive team environment that values your skills and work-life balance Travel Perks: Explore Apple Valley, CA Apple Valley sits in the high desert with easy access to outdoor adventure and relaxed local charm.
