Registered Nurse - Long-Term Care Location: Honakaa, HI Start Date: 04-20-2026 End Date: 07-20-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Rotating 8-hour shifts across all days of the week (including weekends and holidays). Day: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM; Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; Night: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Schedule is varied with possible overtime and no guaranteed shift preference. Roles & Responsibilities • Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition • Administer medications safely and accurately, following facility protocols • Provide ADL assistance to support patient dignity and comfort • Manage gastrostomy tube care and urinary catheter maintenance • Deliver nebulizer treatments and CPAP support as ordered • Provide wound VAC care and other complex dressing management • Communicate pertinent information and changes to MD/NP promptly • Admit and discharge residents with accurate documentation and coordination • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure person-centered care • Complete timely charting, med reconciliations, and handoffs Qualifications • Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment • Current status as a Registered Nurse with long-term care experience • Comfortable with medication administration, patient assessments, and ADL support • Experience or competence in gastrostomy tube care, urinary catheter care, wound VAC care, CPAP and nebulizer treatments • Ability to work varied 8-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays • Strong communication skills and ability to notify MD/NP of pertinent clinical information Knowledge & Skills • Thorough knowledge of long-term care clinical practices and resident-centered care • Skill in medication administration and documentation • Competence in wound VAC management and complex wound care principles • Familiarity with gastrostomy and urinary catheter care and troubleshooting • Ability to perform and document comprehensive patient assessments • Effective communication with providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams • Time management and prioritization in a varied-shift environment Benefits • A supportive team that values YOU and your clinical judgment • Licensure assistance and help getting your Hawaii RN license in place by start date • Travel support to help you settle into island life • Flexible scheduling options to fit your life when possible • Opportunities to grow your clinical skills in long-term care and complex wound/vent care • A welcoming facility culture with experienced colleagues to lean on • Paid time off and holiday policies as per contract • Professional development and clinical mentorship while on assignment Travel Perks: Explore Honakaa, HI Honakaa sits on the scenic Hamakua Coast of Hawaiʻi Island.
