Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and provide comprehensive nursing care for residents of all ages in a long-term care setting.
• Assess resident health status, interpret data, and develop individualized care plans following physician orders and departmental policies.
• Administer medications and therapeutics accurately, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to implement and evaluate care plans, responding promptly to changes in resident conditions.
• Educate residents and their families on health management, procedures, and disease processes to promote understanding and wellbeing.
• Maintain documentation of assessments, treatments, and resident responses in accordance with compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or diploma in nursing).
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or eligible to practice in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and ongoing every three years.
• High-risk competency within 3 months of hire and annually.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and safety standards in a long-term care environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Proficiency in utilizing medical equipment and monitoring tools.
