Manager RN – Labor & Delivery and Mom/Baby Location: San Luis Obispo, California Compensation & Benefits • Salary range: approximately $135,000 – $205,000 annually, depending on experience • Full-time position • Comprehensive benefits package • Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates About the Opportunity Star Nursing is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager RN – Labor & Delivery and Mom/Baby to provide clinical and operational leadership within a perinatal services environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on nurse leader who values collaboration, staff development, and high-quality maternal-child care. The Manager will support a fast-paced clinical setting and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and family-centered care. Position Summary The Manager RN – L&D and Mom/Baby oversees daily clinical and operational functions for perinatal services. This leader maintains a strong presence on the unit, supports staff performance and engagement, and ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and support nursing and support staff in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units • Promote teamwork, communication, and professional development • Partner with educators and clinical leaders to support training and competency development • Monitor patient outcomes, operational performance, and regulatory compliance • Implement initiatives to improve patient safety, experience, and throughput • Collaborate with senior leadership to support departmental and organizational goals Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s preferred • Active California RN license • NRP certification required • Minimum two years acute-care nursing experience (perinatal preferred) • Minimum one year leadership or supervisory experience • Strong communication, coaching, and team leadership skills Preferred Experience • Leadership experience in a Labor & Delivery setting • Experience in unionized or structured workforce environments • Experience supporting high-volume perinatal programs • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality improvement processes • Prior bedside experience as a Labor & Delivery RN What You Can Expect • Collaborative clinical environment • Strong leadership support • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement • Meaningful impact in maternal-child healthcare delivery Minimum Requirements • 5+ years relevant clinical experience • Prior leadership experience required • Bachelor’s degree minimum Pay: $135,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
