Promote and restore patient health by delivering individualized care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation while maintaining standards of professional nursing.  

Performs tasks like:  Establishing a compassionate environment acknowledging and attending to physiological and psychological needs; Closely monitoring status of patient under his/her care; Observing patient, recording significant conditions and reactions, and notifying healthcare team as needed of patient’s condition; Educating patient on procedures and treatments to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension; and Willingness and understanding that Med-Surg patients will be taken in the event there is no critical care patient. 

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  
• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Indiana
  
• Current Healthcare BLS and ACLS certification (ACLS can be acquired within department guidelines)
  
• Two (2) or more years recent experience on telemetry unit
  
• Completed basic EKG class​
  

HIGHLY PREFERRED:

• Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN)
  
• Two (2) or more years recent experience with surgical critical care patients
  
• Two (2) or more years with Med-Surg patients
  
• Current CCRN Certification
  
• Current IV Certification.
