Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry/PCU Location: Owosso, Michigan Start Date: 02-16-2026 End Date: 05-18-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Every weekend (Friday - Sunday), 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour day shifts; rotating float between Med Surg, Telemetry, and PCU). No call. Day shift coverage with a 36-hour guarantee. Roles & Responsibilities • Assess patient needs across physical, psychological, and social domains and document timely, thorough assessments • Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission • Provide compassionate patient and family education to promote independence and safe transitions home • Monitor telemetry and recognize dysrhythmias, initiating appropriate interventions • Administer medications safely and follow infection-control and controlled-substance protocols • Delegate, lead, and evaluate ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to maintain continuity and quality of care • Participate in performance improvement, unit committees, and continuing education to advance practice Qualifications • Active Michigan RN license (LARA/Nursys verification required) • Minimum 2+ years Med Surg nursing experience required • Proven experience floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) required • Proficient with telemetry and able to read and interpret heart rhythms • Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor • Current American Heart Association BLS required • Current American Heart Association ACLS required • Covid-19 vaccination required; exemptions allowed Knowledge & Skills • Patient assessment and development of individualized care plans • Strong documentation and charting skills • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition • Medication administration and safety practices • Infection control and patient safety protocols • Effective team communication and interdisciplinary collaboration • Patient and family education skills • Delegation and frontline leadership abilities • Understanding of growth and development across the lifespan • Familiarity with hospital policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements Benefits • A supportive team that values YOU and your clinical strengths • Travel assignment perks like help navigating local licensure and onboarding • Paid time off options to recharge between assignments • Medical, dental, and vision plans to keep you and your family healthy • Licensure assistance and reimbursement for credentialing steps • Travel reimbursement and housing support resources for contract nurses • Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education • A collaborative workplace where your voice contributes to better patient care Travel Perks: Explore Owosso, Michigan Explore charming Owosso with its picturesque Shiawassee Riverfront and the historic Curwood Castle park along the river.
