Imaging Services Nurse The Imaging Services Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive support to all modalities within the Imaging Services Department. This role involves patient care management including patient assessment, education, and follow-up, as well as provision of conscious sedation care and pharmacology management. The nurse also assists with basic interventional procedures and collaborates with the Radiologist. About the Medical Imaging RN Role As a Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging, you will be responsible for preparing patients for a variety of imaging procedures across different body parts (excluding the heart). This position requires a commitment to high-quality care, utilizing evidence-based practices and collaborating closely with the healthcare team. You may also rotate through sedation areas and assist with emergency procedures as needed. Work with a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering comprehensive patient care. Monday through Friday 7AM-5 : 30PM. Rotating on call requirements after hours, weekends / holidays. Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality care to patients undergoing imaging procedures. • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including Physicians and support staff, to coordinate patient care. • Monitor and evaluate patients before and after procedures, ensuring safety and comfort. • Educate patients about their procedures and address any questions or concerns. • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency imaging procedures as required. Minimum Qualifications • Current RN License in the state of practice. • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) and ACLS for healthcare providers. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Basic computer proficiency. • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications • Critical Care Experience • Understanding of basic x-ray principles and practices. Physical Requirements • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. • Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. • For roles requiring driving : Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
