
Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology (Full-Time) in Cochiti, NM
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse serves as a vital clinical practitioner, coordinating and delivering comprehensive patient care tailored to the unique needs of the medical oncology population. This role emphasizes the provision of high-quality, safe, and efficient care aligned with our standards. The RN is expected to embody the mission, philosophy, and goals of both the nursing unit and the organization, while fostering an atmosphere of respect and collaboration among staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current RN license from New Mexico or a compact state. BLS Certification is required either prior to or within 2 weeks of hire date. Additional required certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire. If certifications are already held at the time of hire, maintaining them is mandatory without a grace period for renewal.
SKILLS:
• Proficiency in nursing knowledge and skills relevant to the patient population served.
• Awareness and sensitivity towards patients' rights in delivering care.
• Effective communication skills suitable for the developmental stages of patients.
EXPERIENCE:
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Patient Care Director or Manager
ENVIRONMENT:
• Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens (Type C, Type B) in varying patient care settings.
• Risk of exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays.
The workplace is maintained as a clean, well-lit, and smoke-free environment. Staff may experience stress from professional relationships, and hours include variability due to unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capability to handle emergencies and crises, with sustained periods of standing and walking. Heavy physical effort is required for positioning, transferring, and transporting patients or equipment. Tasks involve significant reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Adequate visual and hearing acuity, co-ordination, and fine motor skills are essential.
