Job Description Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Job Summary Travel Registered Nurse needed for a Medical Surgical unit at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, TN. The position is for a 13-week travel assignment starting March 23, 2026. The RN will be working night shifts, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) or at least 1 of 2 holidays should they fall within assignment. RNs can be floated between like units and campuses within 20 miles of each other, however, floating between campuses (unless specifically stated in posting) will be rare. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. • Monitor and assess patient conditions, and report changes to the healthcare team. • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care. • Respond to patient needs and emergencies. • May be required to be on-call as needed. • May be required to work weekends as needed. • Floating to like units and campuses within 20 miles of each other may be required. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing. (3+ years preferred) • Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment. • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or a compact state. • ADN accepted (BSN only required for specific units). • Must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) or at least 1 of 2 holidays should they fall within assignment. • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility. • Must provide a copy of driver's license at time of submittal. • Must include all RTO in submission packet. • Must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) or at least 1 of 2 holidays should they fall within assignment. • Vaccination status with submission. Preferred Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing. • Large hospital experience. • Cerner charting system experience. Skills & Competencies • Strong clinical skills in Medical Surgical nursing. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Proficient in patient assessment and documentation. • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Shift Details • Nights, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Could change during interview. • Option for 4x12s, 48 hours may be available. • On-Call: As needed • Weekend Requirement: As needed Licensing Requirements • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state.
