Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend; guaranteed 36 hours per week (Night)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy using Alaris pumps with accuracy and safety
• Document thoroughly in Epic to ensure clear, legal, and timely patient records
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients, including post-surgical and complex medical diagnoses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, discharge planning, and transitions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and care plans with empathy and clarity
• Float to designated units (6E, acute rehab, geriatric psych) as needed while maintaining patient safety and standards
Qualifications
• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Nebraska) and at least 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification required at time of submission
• Comfortable and competent with telemetry monitoring, medical-surgical nursing, and IV management
• Familiarity with Epic charting and Alaris IV pump operation
• Valid driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm radius rule eligibility)
• Must pass an orientation open-book skills exam with a 90% score (program requirement)
• Ability to follow facility policies (including no artificial nails in patient care areas) and meet COVID vaccination status requirements
• Not currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) per radius rule
Education
• Active RN license in the state of Nebraska
• BSN not required (per job posting); diploma or associate degree in nursing acceptable
Knowledge & Skills
• Telemetry interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Medication administration and accurate dosing calculations
• IV management and Alaris pump operation
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting best practices
• Medical-surgical nursing principles for adult patient populations
• Strong teamwork, cultural competency, and patient-centered communication
• Basic pediatric exposure (very minimal pediatric patient contact expected)
