The A3 unit is a 30-bed Medical/Surgical unit filled with enthusiastic nursing and healthcare professionals. We are committed to delivering compassionate care to a diverse patient population while adhering to Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to improve postoperative outcomes. JOB SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse, you will showcase your clinical competence through the nursing process and foster strong nurse-patient relationships. You will assess patient needs, develop comprehensive care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes to ensure quality care.
Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience required, ideally in a medical/surgical setting; completion of Backus Hospital's Nurse Residency Program is also acceptable.
• Valid, unrestricted RN license to practice in Connecticut.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire; additional department-specific certifications are advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated understanding of nursing principles and practices, effective communication skills to clearly convey complex information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You should be adaptable and thrive in a collaborative team environment. A commitment to exceptional customer service, the ability to work under pressure in a diverse healthcare setting, and proficiency in basic computer skills for data management are essential.
