The A3 unit is a 30-bed Medical/Surgical unit filled with enthusiastic nursing and healthcare professionals. JOB SUMMARY As a Registered Nurse, you will showcase your clinical competence through the nursing process and foster strong nurse-patient relationships. You will assess patient needs, develop comprehensive care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes to ensure quality care. Qualifications • Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. • Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience required, ideally in a medical/surgical setting; completion of Backus Hospital's Nurse Residency Program is also acceptable. • Valid, unrestricted RN license to practice in Connecticut. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire; additional department-specific certifications are advantageous. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated understanding of nursing principles and practices, effective communication skills to clearly convey complex information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
