Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Unit Full Time Days
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Community Hospital South
7am-7p POSITION - $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS!!
Under general supervision, the RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Community Hospital/Northwest Surgical Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
• Provides care to post-surgical patients in Med-Surg/ICU according to policy and procedure and care standards.
• Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes post-surgery/recovery, and anticipated complications.
• Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
• Acts to protect and advance patient's best interest.
• Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
Accountability:
• Reports to: Director of Nursing/House Supervisor
• Supervises: PCTI, PCTII and HUC
Qualifications:
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
• Minimum of one year experience in Med-Surg, Emergency, or ICU preferred.
• BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS required within 120 days of hire.
Required Physical Demands:
• Strength (Lift, Carry, Push, Pull): Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 lbs to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
• Standing/Walking: Constantly; activity exists 2/3 or more of the time
• Keyboard/Dexterity: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time
• Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate verbally): Yes
• Seeing: Yes
• Hearing: Yes
• Color Acuity: No
Environmental Conditions:
Level: High
• High exposure to hazardous risks including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment and chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. May be required to work weekends or flex schedules. Travel may be required. Exposed to weather conditions during travel. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphere is required.
