Summary:
The capable Registered Nurse demonstrates independence and awareness in providing routine and complex care in clinical settings. You will play a key role in developing long-range care goals, managing various clinical scenarios, and delegating tasks effectively to ensure optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
• Exhibit OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Deliver nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice through assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address the complex emotional, psychological, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in your nursing practice.
• Administer medications and treatments appropriately, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, treatments, and care provided meticulously.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, while identifying resources and issues.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact is required.
Position Requirements:
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by designated trained staff, with initial onboarding validated through competency checks.
• Participation in a residency program or specific orientation is available for newly licensed RNs.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current ACLS certification is required.
All associates are required to obtain necessary certifications within designated time frames, as outlined by the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy.
