Musculoskeletal Full Time 87579BR Job Summary Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate). Patients found on this unit are often admitted for acute exacerbations of complex chronic conditions with a focus on pulmonary, gastrointestinal, sickle cell, renal failure, medical-psychological, and endocrine conditions. In addition, patients are admitted for diagnostic work-up and treatment of new-onset infectious disease processes. Continuous video camera monitoring and cardiac telemetry are also available, if needed, to provide comprehensive, safe patient care. Collaboration between our physician colleagues (teaching services and attending services) and multidisciplinary teams contributes to the high functioning teamwork found on this unit. The unit is also supported by the Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), ACE RN Program Coordinator, Medical/Surgical CNS/Educators and an Oncology CNS. This cohesive team approach allows our nurses to provide a high standard of innovative care to patients. Nursing based research that enhances nursing or improves patient care and safety is actively supported here. In addition, a nursing clinical leadership structure is provided to support and mentor nurses of all levels of experience.
