The St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Center is a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility focused on providing exceptional care to adults with mental health conditions, including those with dual diagnosis substance use disorders. St. Vincent's Medical Center leads the way in mental health services in Connecticut as part of the Hartford HealthCare network. Job Summary: • Deliver compassionate and direct care to patients facing behavioral health challenges while following facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments to create tailored nursing care plans in alignment with the master treatment plan. • Participate in treatment team meetings to craft and adjust individualized goals and interventions for each patient. • Implement and oversee the nursing care plans for assigned patients, including leading group therapy sessions. • Assess patient responses to interventions and modify care plans in collaboration with the treatment team. • Administer holistic assessments that consider physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs of patients. • Document nursing care plans collaboratively with patients and families to ensure comprehensive care delivery. • Provide direct patient care according to physician orders, maintaining meticulous documentation of outcomes. • Quickly recognize and respond to changes in patients' conditions, proactively adjusting care plans as needed. • Delegate appropriate care tasks to nursing staff to enhance efficiency in patient care. • Continuously advance knowledge and skills relevant to behavioral health while working with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to nursing standards and ethics. Qualifications: • A valid Registered Nurse license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health is required prior to the hire date. • Certification as a BLS Provider must be obtained within 60 days of hire. • An Associate's degree is essential; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. • Previous experience in an acute care psychiatric setting is advantageous. • Demonstrate leadership skills and effectively manage challenging patient behaviors through established training.
