Registered Nurse - Mother Baby Care - Full Time in Belcher, LA
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate leadership qualities in alignment with the OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process, ensuring comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess and educate patients, families, and caregivers on necessary healthcare topics.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 1 year in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS required, RN License in the state of employment or compact.
Position Expectations:
• Newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
• Each new hire will be paired with a trained preceptor, ensuring proper onboarding and competency validation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience in a perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency is preferred.
• Current STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) is required.
• Current NRP certification is required; ACLS certification preferred.
Grace Periods for Certification:
• BLS: No grace period.
• ACLS, PALS: Within 30-90 days of hire depending on experience.
• NRP and STABLE: Within 30-60 days of hire.
