Position: Registered Nurse - Mother Baby - Full Time Location: Winchester Center Registered Nurse - Mother Baby - Full Time Join to apply for the Registered Nurse - Mother Baby - Full Time role at Valley Health Be among the first 25 applicants (3 days ago) Job Description The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. The RN is responsible for quality communication, teamwork, leadership, and professionalism. They also direct, coordinate, and implement patient teaching and quality/safety initiatives, working with other health team personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards. As a Registered Nurse II (RN II), the candidate will provide care to the population assigned, complete mandatory competencies, participate in unit and department initiatives, communicate with the Director/Designee, and maintain an up‑to‑date portfolio submitted annually by March 1st. The RN II will also solicit and validate patient/family satisfaction, participate in peer review, and develop educational material for staff, patients, and families. Department Mother/Baby Nursing - 206091 Worker Sub Type: Regular Work Shift: Regular Education Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) is required. Bachelors Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Experience Advancement to this level requires a minimum of 1872 full‑time or part‑time hours (936 if holding a BSN) of RN experience and completion of a performance evaluation. Certification & Licensures RN License is required. Candidates must be licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia under the Virginia Board of Nursing regulations (Nurse Licensure Compact or single‑state license). BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association (AHA) approved – required. New hires must possess AHA certification prior to completing orientation. Relevant specialty certification is preferred. Qualifications Meets all requirements of an RN I. Competent to provide care based on the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological stages of human growth and development; competent to use the nursing process; and must have reliable means of phone communication with the hospital.
