Shift: Night Shift | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 17 Weeks
Pay Rate: $60–$65 per hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, family-centered care to postpartum mothers and their newborns. This role focuses on maternal recovery, newborn assessment, feeding support, bonding, and patient education within a postpartum care setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns (couplet care)
• Perform comprehensive maternal postpartum assessments and monitor recovery
• Conduct newborn assessments, including vital signs, feeding, and thermoregulation
• Educate families on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
• Identify and respond to maternal or newborn complications
• Deliver discharge planning and education to ensure safe transitions home
• Accurately document assessments, care, and education in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred)
• Collaborate with OB providers, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
• Perform additional Mother Baby nursing duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 2 years of Mother Baby or postpartum RN experience
• Proven experience caring for both postpartum mothers and newborns
• Strong patient education and family-centered care skills
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)

Preferred Experience
• Couplet care experience
• Experience in high-volume postpartum units

Licensure & Certifications
• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
