At the Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital, we offer a nurturing environment with breathtaking views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. Our facility comprises a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit and a Postpartum Unit, helping over 1,100 families each year. Our 7-bed labor unit features 3 triage bays and 2 ORs, and we take pride in our culturally sensitive approach and some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts.
The Postpartum Unit has 12 private rooms and a Level 1B continuing care nursery, focusing on mother-infant bonding and couplet care right after birth.
Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing assessments and individualized care for mothers and newborns according to established guidelines.
• Educate parents on newborn care from birth through discharge.
• Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care for both mother and newborn.
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives to enhance maternal-newborn care.
• Maintain clinical practice in accordance with professional guidelines from AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP.
• Complete required competency programs effectively.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Massachusetts RN Licensure.
• Current AHA BLS or ARC BLS certification; NRP required before completing unit orientation.
• Experience in mother-baby/nursery care required; Level 1B nursery experience strongly preferred.
Sign-On Bonus: Newly hired experienced RNs with 2 years of specialty experience may be eligible for a **$10,000** sign-on bonus (prorated for part-time). Commit to a minimum of two years with us and receive an additional $10,000 retention bonus.
