The Maternity Suite at CHA Cambridge Hospital is a welcoming unit with beautiful views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. We provide support to over 1,100 growing families each year. Our Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit includes a 7-bed labor unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. We take pride in our multidisciplinary patient care, culturally sensitive approach to labor and delivery, and among the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts. The Postpartum Unit features 12 private rooms along with a level 1b continuing care nursery. Here, we care for mothers and infants immediately after birth and throughout the early stages of postpartum until discharge, while fostering an environment that promotes couplet care and early family bonding. As an RN in this role, you will be responsible for: • Ongoing assessment and care of mothers during the postpartum period according to established guidelines. • Continuous assessment and care of newborns as per established protocols. • Providing education to the maternal-newborn dyad from birth to discharge. • Orchestrating and coordinating discharge planning and follow-up care for mothers and newborns. • Participating in ongoing quality initiatives within the maternal-newborn unit. • Maintaining clinical practice in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP established guidelines. • Completing the required maternal-newborn unit based competency programs. Qualifications/Requirements: • BSN preferred • Current MA RN Licensure • Current AHA BLS required; NRP certification required prior to completion of unit orientation • Experience in mother-baby/nursery required; Level 1B nursery experience strongly preferred Newly hired experienced RNs committing to a minimum of two years of employment at Cambridge Health Alliance may be eligible for a $10,000 retention bonus.
