IU Methodist's 6South is a fast-paced, 30-bed multi-specialty medical/surgical unit. This unit specializes in trauma, urology, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, and oral maxillary facial surgery patients. Patients treated on this unit present with a wide range of diagnoses allowing the nurses of this unit to gain a wide variety of experience.

This position currently qualifies for a NEW hourly wage differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials. More details about this differential will be provided during the interview process.

Shift: FT or PT Nights

Nursing skills gained on this unit
• Patient assessment
• Critical thinking
• Prioritization of care
• Building strength in foundational nursing skills
• Caring for a variety of diagnoses

Qualifications
• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
