Position Overview - NICU
As a Registered Nurse in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will demonstrate clinical excellence by utilizing the nursing process to foster strong patient-nurse relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assessing and identifying patient needs and concerns.
• Developing and implementing individualized care plans.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of care and making necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of RN experience or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Two or more years of experience in NICU preferred.
• License and Certification: Current unrestricted RN license in good standing in Connecticut. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Ability to obtain and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire. Department-specific certifications are also required. Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC - NIC or CCRN) preferred.
