Our PCU E3 unit features 25 beds and a dedicated team of nursing professionals specializing in care for complex stroke, vascular, neurological conditions, and specialty surgeries, ensuring high-quality care for our patients. Job Summary: You will demonstrate clinical excellence by utilizing the nursing process and fostering strong nurse-patient relationships. Your responsibilities will include: • Assessing and identifying patient needs • Establishing care plans and implementing effective nursing interventions • Evaluating the effectiveness of care provided Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred • One (1) year of RN experience or completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program • Current, unrestricted RN license in good standing in the State of Connecticut • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire • Ability to achieve Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days • Successful completion of the dysrhythmia test within 3 months of hire • Pass the BKAT with at least an 80% score or complete a critical care course within one (1) year • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Fundamental understanding of nursing principles and practices • Effective communication skills for conveying complex information and instructions • Strong interpersonal abilities to interact with a diverse range of individuals • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment • Commitment to exceptional customer service • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval • Strong analytical skills to interpret information from various sources • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times At Hartford HealthCare, we are dedicated to fostering career development and growth.
