Roles & Responsibilities • Provide high-quality obstetric nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients • Monitor maternal and fetal status using established protocols and critical thinking • Assist with labor and deliveries and coordinate care with physicians and midwives • Float to the med/surg floor as needed and deliver safe, competent care across units • Document patient assessments, interventions and progress clearly in the medical record • Educate patients and families about pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum expectations • Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate care when necessary • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care Qualifications • Current, active RN license in Iowa (or compact RN licensure if applicable) • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required • Previous obstetrics experience preferred; med/surg experience helpful for floating duties • Comfort and ability to float to the med/surg floor when needed • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude • Preferred certifications: NRP or ACLS depending on facility expectations Education • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred Knowledge & Skills • Familiarity with fetal monitoring and interpretation • Labor and delivery procedures and postpartum care knowledge • IV therapy, medication administration and basic emergency interventions • Patient education techniques for prenatal and postnatal care • Ability to use electronic medical records for accurate documentation • Triage, prioritization and time management skills in a busy unit Benefits • Generous housing stipend to make your contract comfortable and convenient • Medical, Dental & Vision coverage to keep you healthy and supported • 401K retirement savings plan so you can plan for the future • Life Insurance to give extra peace of mind • Paid Time Off to recharge between shifts • Travel reimbursement and support for contract logistics • Licensure assistance & reimbursement to keep your credentials current • Referral bonus program for recommending fellow great clinicians • A supportive, collaborative team that truly values YOU Travel Perks: Explore Atlantic, IA Atlantic, Iowa is a welcoming hometown with a charming historic downtown, local parks and trails perfect for a brisk walk after a night shift, and community festivals that give you a true small-town feel.
