
Registered Nurse (Oncology) in Boulder, MT
Job Description
Overview:
The Staff Pad is excited to partner with a mission-driven, nonprofit healthcare organization in Helena, Montana, to hire an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) . This is an opportunity to join a compassionate and supportive oncology team that provides direct and indirect patient care with a holistic, family-centered approach.
What You’ll Do:
Deliver high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Provide emotional and clinical support to patients navigating cancer treatment, including pain management, chemotherapy, end-of-life care, and body image challenges.
Safely administer chemotherapy while adhering to safety protocols and drug-specific procedures.
Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, safe handling practices, and treatment expectations.
Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team about patient condition changes, diagnostic results, and care plans.
Serve as a resource and mentor to newer or less experienced nursing staff.
Respond promptly and effectively to changing patient conditions and emergent situations.
Float to other departments as needed, with supervision.
What We’re Looking For:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN license in the state of Montana.
BLS certification required.
Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.
Completion of a Chemotherapy/Oncology course within 6–12 months of hire (must be maintained annually).
Demonstrated emotional maturity and communication skills to navigate complex, sensitive patient scenarios.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and maintain flexibility in scheduling and assignments.
