Job Description
A contract Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Carmel, IN, specializing in Oncology with a focus on Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology care. This role involves providing advanced nursing care in a 17-bed unit dedicated to patients undergoing complex treatments such as chemotherapy, blood and electrolyte replacement, and long-term IV therapy. The position offers day shift hours with 36 guaranteed hours per week, including every third weekend and holiday coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology and hematology patients, including bone marrow transplant cases.
• Perform neuro assessments, central line dressing changes, and administer high-risk and hazardous drugs.
• Manage complex equipment like ventilators, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitors.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
• Float to similar units such as stepdown, critical care, and acute care specialties as needed.
• Uphold a professional and respectful environment that prioritizes compassionate patient care.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse licensure with experience in oncology, hematology, or critical care preferred.
• Skills in blood administration, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and electrolyte management.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as EPIC and Beacon advantageous.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certificates preferred.
• Demonstrates a team-oriented attitude, willingness to learn, and strong patient advocacy.
• Ability to maintain professional appearance adhering to facility scrub standards.
