Qualifications / Desired Experience: • Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, preferably with malignant hematology/BMT exposure • Oncology certification (ONS Chemo Certified) required; will orient to BMT • EpiC system experience preferred • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIH, and ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy course mandatory • CPI certification is a plus Location: Situated in the vibrant community of Gretna, Louisiana, this role offers proximity to New Orleans’ rich culture and southern hospitality. Responsibilities: • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing bone marrow biopsies, central line management, and blood and bone marrow transplants • Manage a patient ratio averaging 1:4, ensuring attentive and safe care • Float within the unit as needed depending on BMT census • Follow strict protocols for oncology treatments and maintain patient safety during chemotherapy and immunotherapy • Support weekend and holiday shifts, working every other weekend as schedule requires Schedule: • Nights, 3 shifts per week • 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM This contract position requires availability throughout the Mardi Gras period, with limited time-off requests during peak days to support consistent staffing.
