Registered Nurse - Oncology in Edmond, OK

More than just a Career, It's a Calling! At SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, we are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses in the Oncology department. Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology, you will provide compassionate, direct nursing care guided by established protocols to enhance patient health and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: • Utilize evidence-based nursing practices to enhance patient care and quality of life. • Develop strong relationships with patients and their families, advocating for their individual care needs. • Apply the nursing process in creating and implementing personalized care plans. • Assess patients holistically, considering multiple dimensions of their health status. • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive care. • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure ethical and culturally sensitive care. • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures. • Serve as a mentor and role model for fellow nursing staff and students. • Maintain awareness of best practices and ensure nursing care meets all clinical and age-specific needs. • Contribute to a safe working environment by being alert and proactive in all duties. • Perform additional responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Experience: No previous nursing experience required. Physical Requirements: • Communication skills for patient interaction. • Ability to stand, walk frequently, and lift/carry moderate weights. • Good vision and hearing to perform clinical duties. Licenses and Certifications: Must hold a Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification and a Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the appropriate state authority. Work Schedule: Expect day shifts with a weekly commitment of 36 hours.
