• Department: Orth Pre-op PACU
• Schedule: Full time, Day shift, 6:30am-7:00pm with some weekend & holiday on call are required. No scheduled weekend shifts.

• Location: Indianapolis, IN

Minimum of 2yrs critical care experience, or experience in a surgery center setting with experience in all 3 phases of perioperative care.

Must have active certifications in BLS, ACLS, & PALS by the end of orientation.Benefits

Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period.
• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

One or more of the following is required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart
Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.Additional Preferences

If you enjoy working in a collaborative & fast paced environment where you can put your critical thinking skills to use, this is the position for you! This 24/7 PACU provides care for adult and pediatric patient populations with a wide variety of surgeries.
• Provide direct care for the Ortho patients in PRE-OP and POST-OP
• Support and Educate patients and families - procedure and plan of care Evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions Monitor, record, and communicate with patient conditions as appropriate throughout the PACU recovery
• Excellent multi-tasking skills & communication skills
• 2 years of experience in Acute Care PACU facility, ER, or Critical Care preferred
• Prefer Level 1 Trauma Center or Stroke Center hospital experience
• Have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Average of 50-60 patients per day - very busy unit
• Prefer Adult and/or Pediatric PACU experience in an acute care setting
