This role handles phone triage for patients in primary care settings, allowing nurses to assess symptoms remotely and coordinate urgent care visits that prevent unnecessary hospital trips. Nurses manage symptom evaluation and support plans, ensuring patients receive timely guidance on treatments. The position requires balancing multiple calls while maintaining accurate records of interactions using nursing process documentation.Indiana University Health operates a network of 15 hospitals across Indiana, serving nearly 40,000 team members and featuring partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the Indiana University School of Medicine. Their services span over 800 sites, offering comprehensive care from inpatient to outpatient environments.On typical days, nurses conduct telephone assessments without direct patient contact, collaborate with primary care physicians on care plans, and instruct patients on procedure details over the phone. They use Basic Life Support protocols, manage care coordination for groups of patients, and participate in quality improvement projects. Work occurs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM using clinical triage software and patient management systems. One challenge involves accurately evaluating patient conditions solely through verbal communication.Full-time positions offer sign-on bonuses varying by FTE percentage. Locations include the 146th/Hazel Dell area in Indiana. No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required.
